I had an out of town client request photographs of 'smaller' drawings this morning. As long as I am making them I may as well share the photos here on my blog. It was a quick photo session and I apologize for less than idea images, but I do make smaller drawings.

New Year, New Work

Bitter cold here in Chicago for the first week of January 2018. What else is there to do but work? The studio is cool but workable, and I have been treating myself to movies and the occasional cocktail with friends. But I have gotten some work done too.

'Elaborate Cages' seems an apt title for this latest group of work given the political box we find ourselves in at this time. How did we get here? We went from the relative stability of the Obama years to utter chaos. The term cages could also refer to emotional or personal cages we have built for ourselves. Which ever definition you lean towards, these cages may be beautiful, they may give a sense of freedom and direction, but we are trapped and we have constructed them ourselves.
